Adult and children sitting down with a book

Clare Libraries organises book clubs for children.  A children’s book club is a reading group for children which meets monthly to discuss books chosen in advance by library staff and the children themselves. The children may also complete book reviews, and may compete in fun quizzes, play games and use the internet to research books and authors.

A book club for children is about getting children together to talk about books in all genres and to share a love of books. A Children’s book club involves exploring new styles together and trying new writers to develop younger readers. This is also a great way to encourage reading and to develop a love for books. This club is about reading for pleasure, making friends and doing some drawing or writing too.
