Clare Libraries has lots of resources and services available to young adults, such as books, DVDs, online resources, IT services, study spaces, printing and events.

Membership

Clare Libraries invites children aged 12 and above to become Young Adult members.

There are two membership categories for Young Adults; ages 12–14 and 15–17.

Terms and conditions for both categories must be accepted by parents/guardians.

Young Adults aged 12-14 can access the children’s and young adult collections, DVDs up to a 12 rating, and can use Internet services with parental permission.

Young Adults aged 15-17 can access all library collections, DVDs up to 15 rating, and can use the Internet with parental permission.

Internet access is subject to the library’s internet access policy.

Events

An annual programme of events takes place for teenagers in late February and early March, in collaboration with the Ennis Book Club Festival.

Past events enjoyed by secondary school students include audiences with YA authors, writing and illustration workshops, music events, history talks and teen health and wellness events.
