This month we are showing ‘La Vie En Rose’. Released in 2007 this is a biographical musical film about the life of French singer, Édith Piaf. From the slums of Paris to the limelight of New York, Édith Piaf’s life was a battle to sing and survive, live and love. Raised in poverty, Édith’s magical voice, passionate romances and friendships with the greatest names of the period made her a star worldwide.
Starring Marion Cotillard as Piaf, Cotillard’s performance received critical acclaim and earned her several awards including the Academy Award for Best Actress – the first time an Oscar had been given for a French-language role.
