Dr Liam Irwin is the former Head of History at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick. His works include ‘The Diocese of Limerick: an illustrated history’ and he co-edited ‘Limerick, History and Society’. He is Honorary Editor of the ‘North Munster Antiquarian Journal’ as a member of the Thomond Archaeological and Historical Society.
