New source for New York historic newspapers, plus more

I periodically review the digital resources listed on the New York Public Library website and have now seen this website: http://www.newyorkheritage.org/

While I have not tried out all categories of online databases there, I have used the newspapers, which are accessed county by county and which are much quicker to navigate than those on the Old Fulton Postcards site although there are no thumbnail views of individual articles brought onscreen after using the search engine.
