Attached is a snippet of an 1850 US naturalization document for a John Maddigan showing a birthplace in "Kildisser County of Claire" 1820.
Is there a placename Kildisser?
Thanks again!

Hi John
I would say that Kildisser is a corruption of the spelling , Killadysert or Kildysert now the spelling used is Kildysart it is east of Labasheeda at the entrance of the Fergus Estuary from the River Shannon here is a link to info on Kildysart on the clare lib.website http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclar ... dysert.htm.
The name Madigan is to be found throughout West Clare so no doubt in your search you will come across more misspellings. Good luck with your endeavours. MOC
