Locating Moylan's in Ballyvohane
I am interested in locating any Moylan family members in Clare that descend from James Moylan. James Moylan married Catherine Murtaugh in Kildysart (Ballyvohane), on 23 July 1870. They had at least one daughter, a Mary (Agnes) 13 May 1876, and possibly a Thomas. Mary immigrated to the USA in 1892. Mary is my Grandmother.

In the 1901 Irish Census for Ballyvohane, Kildysart there is a James Moylan (age 56), his wife Catherine (age 65), and one son Patrick (age 29).

In the 1911 Irish Census, the Moylan family is still in Ballyvohane; James is 73 years old; Catherine is 76; Patrick is 39. One additional clue is that it states that they had five children who are all still living at 1911.

To find the Kildysart baptism record for Patrick Moylan and any other children, check out the Catholic parish records that have been digitized by the National Library of Ireland and for Kildysart go from November 1866 to January 1881.
To go back prior generations, you are very lucky that for the Kildysart parish that a Catholic nun provided an index to the records from July 1829 to November 1866, although the original baptism records for this period were not digitized. Prior to the index, there is a brief blurb on Sister M. Gertrude who completed the index in the late 1930's. She was in convalescence in Ireland after being on a Catholic mission in China when that city was attacked by the Japanese in October 1937.

I want to say thank you for all the information that has been provided, it has been very useful and very much appreciated.
I would like to know if anyone can help me with Catholic Parishes and possibly cemeteries in Killadysert, Ballyohane. I would be looking for the burial of James and Catherine Moylan, and their son Patrick.
Of the 5 children they had, I know of 4 that immigrated to the US and I can provide information on where they settled if that information would be useful.

Catherine Moylan (born 1837) died in 1914 in Killadysert, and James Moylan (born 1844) died in 1925 in Killadysert.
I initially did this query specifying "Ireland" as the country and "County Clare" as the state or province. This query came up empty; it was only after querying "Ireland" with no county stated that the results came up. This must mean that Family Search has Killadysert in a different county than Clare? Something to consider for those with Killadysert ancestors.
Here are instructions on how to obtain a death record for your great grandparents. However, in the death records I've obtained (also for Killadysert), cemetery information was not a field in the document. The informant is listed and might provide you with more information on the later whereabouts of their son Patrick Moylan.

And your last post didn't mention if you had any luck finding the Moylan baptism records. Given that you provided both parents, I should have mentioned that the specific birth dates are easy to find also on Family Search for their five children : Thomas (1870), Patrick (1872), Mary (1874), John (1876), James (1877): this link provides the exact dates:

Just did another query searching for "Patrick Moylan" following my own advice not to restrict Killadysert to County Clare, but a general Ireland search.
In the graveyard inscriptions (see link in above post) for the main graveyard in Killadysert there is a Michael Moylan who died on 1 May 1960, the "son of Patrick and Ellen Moylan".
A Michael Moylan is listed as having been born in Killadysert in 1913. If this is the same Michael as in the grave inscription, it appears that your grandmother's brother Patrick who was single and 39 years old in the 1911 Irish census went on to have loads of children starting in 1912:

I suspect when you visit Clare this summer you might find one or two cousins.

Bad news. In the Killadysert query above, I used a birth year starting range of 1911 to fit the conclusion that your Patrick Moylan who was single in 1911 was the father of Michael Moylan who was born in 1912 (and perhaps died in Killadysert in 1960).
I revised the Killadysert query using a birth year starting range from 1911 to an earlier 1900:

In Killadysert, there were two additional Moylan births: in 1909 (Thomas) and 1910 (Bridget), while Patrick Moylan was single and living with his parents. The parents of these two children are listed on the 1911 Irish census as John and Margaret Moylan living in Lisheen, Clare:

You'll have to review the actual baptism records using link in my first post to sort out who were the parents of Michael Moylan born in 1913. This Michael Moylan might still be the son of your Patrick Moylan. I'm thinking that this is most likely, but at least you might have found more distant cousins.
