Just searching for something in my bookshelf and reopened "Poverty Before the Famine, County Clare 1835" published by CLASP* Press in 1996 (those who do not have direct access to the book can also find a summary at http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclar ... _index.htm)
This book was mentioned 8 years ago on this forum and so might have disappeared into the mists of cyber-antiquity. However, I thought I might take the liberty of "bumping" it because it is a goldmine of background vignettes on the environment our ancestors lived in. Can't be read enough.
