Information was posted recently on the Rootsweb Clare list that the Limerick City Council now has a page of files in pdf
format (for which Djvu viewing software must be installed; links provided for free downloads for various operating systems)
of burial books maintained for Mount St. Lawrence cemetery in Limerick city, from 1855 forward:

I took a quick look and did an eyeball scan of the first several books. Dates are for burials and placenames
are given for the decedent's last residence. Here are those which I saw:

If you are researching Ryan from Bunratty or Tulla, it is probably worth your while to download the software needed to view the burial books. The Ryan listings which I repeated here were to illustrate what is on that site. I made notes for just a few of the books, and all the books need to be consulted for specific research purposes. Hope you can get past this initial technical difficulty, because you will be viewing a lot more material in its original state, a marvel of accessibility. In the old
days, one could only hope that a cemetery custodian would be comprehensive and accurate in going over the books and
making notes to deliver in a letter that would eventually get to a family historian. I once had to travel 3000 miles to get to
a cemetery custodian and sit down with her as we went through fragile, dusty, musty books and that was possible only because we happened to be looking for mutual ancestors since the custodian was a distant relative.

Thanks Sharon,
I did down load software, I have a new Mac OS X 10.6.2 noted that this version was not there so downloaded the next best so not sure not up with IT stuff, pity as I would love to get my hands on the books...Would they be available to view where they are held?

That's a good question. I am supposing that there is some kind of contact info on the Limerick City Council website, so you
can likely start there. My knowledge of the burial books came from a posting on a message board like this Forum, so I never
got that far into the subject.
