Some of this is first-hand information, straight from the horse's mouth as they say, albeit in an 1862 publication.

Immediately preceding the text shown in the screenshots, McNamara researchers will find a land deal made for Donell McNamara for the term of his life, for residence at a place called Dangan in Clare. That might be the East Clare place.

Conor Gallery of Cragbrien also signs. My family's oral history says that is my branch of the Gallerys - we are unlikely to confirm that, though Nicholas Smith O'Gorman says in 1861 that the Gallerys of Ennis were a big help to the O'Gorman Mahon in the Clare elections and said that they were very nearly connected to the O'Gormans beside the note that Johanna Gallery of Cragbrien married an O'Gorman.

The Dangan referred to could Dangan Castle in the townland of Knocksaggart, Ballynacally.
Graigbrien is about three miles north of Dangan Castle.

It's my working hypothesis that the name McGilleragh, although anglicised to Gallery in Clare, was also anglicised to Kilroy, Gilroy, Mulroy and Mulroe, when parts of the family were exiled to County Mayo. I'm hoping to confirm this through DNA testing.
