Hello (re Lydia Elliot, Scattery Island)

I came across your forum whilst I was looking for information on Scattery Island. I only recently got a copy of the marriage certificate of my great grand mother Lydia Elliot and my great grand father Richard W. Forrest dated 1873. Lydia's address is given as Scattery Island and her father (who I presume also lived there) was Thomas Elliott who she has put down as a sea captain.
We also have a family legend that he was a light housekeeper, maybe that is true as there is a lighthouse on Scattery Island but we have not been able to confirm that he worked there yet. When I find an ancestor I like to find out about the place that they lived in so I shall be reading up on County Clare. It really does look so very beautiful.
So this is just a hello and thank you for letting me look around your forum.
