Hello Andrew,
I am related to the Codys, originally from County Clare. I'm 5th generation Australian. Partick John Frawley and Susan Cody (parents Dennis and Margaret Cody)
had 7 children. I am related to them through their Son John's Line. John married Catherine McMahon (daughter of James McMahon and Anne Hillard) and they had 4 children. Patrick Frawley was born 1971 but died January 19, 1872. They had 2 Daughters Susan Mary Frawley and Sarah Jane Frawley.
Susan Mary Frawley married Richard Purcell (son of Martin Purcell and Sarah Ryan) They had the following children.Martin John Joseph (Art) Purcell. Mathew James Purcell, Kathleen Mary (Queenie) Purcell, Mary Magdalen Purcell Patrick Alphonsus Purcell and Philomena (Phil) Purcell.
Susan Mary Frawley and Richard Purcell were my great grandparents.
Martin Purcell married Amelia Walsh and they had 5 children. My Grandparents. Mary Ellen Purcell was their first born in 1914 and they also had 3 other daughters and one son Mathew.
I have only just come into contact with these relatives of mine and ther is a whole lot of history and there are so many relations. I suppose being Irish Catholics may have something to do with this.
I have a history that my 3rd Cousin put together going back to County Clare when Patrick was born in about 1790. No-one seems to know what happened to Patrick which left Susan a widow and living alone in Doora in County Clare. Susan parents were in Bungaree at this stage and this maybe the reason the came to Australia.
I have lots more information and it's getting muddled as I try to fit everything in. Let me know if you need further information.
