He was the son of James Boland/Bridget Keane and was born 12th Jan 1858. Sisters Jane 9 Nov 1861, Honora 6 June 1863,Ellen 18 Sept 1864. His father James died aged 37 on 27 June 1865 and his mother Bridget died aged 36 on 2nd Mar 1871. The family lived at Henry Street, Kilrush.
